I had actually attended a shidduch meeting..... and heard about this boy. I recorded his information and a few weeks later I suggested it to the girl. B'h it was a really smooth process, and ended in a Mazal Tov! 10K Batay Yisroel inspires me to just keep on trying no matter what. This organization has given me the constant courage that everyone can be a Shadchan!

I am a shadchan, so I always work on ideas. The boys side is my neighbor, and thr girls side is a family friend I was at a Monsey shiduch Initiative dinner and  Mr Levin spoke to us so beautifully, I just felt inspired to document some of my shidduchim. I am honored to be part of something special!

BH, MY 1ST SHIDDUCH BETWEEN MY SISTER IN LAW & FUTURE BROTHER IN LAW !!!! As a cousin to the Kaplan family, I know that Elisheva & Yisroel were holding my hand through this momentous time

Engagement

This shidduch was between a friend of my daughter and a relative of mine. It’s always been on my mind - about the tragic passing of Yisroel and Elisheva AH. While not a shadchan, I was happy to do something in this realm. I think the point I learnt most importantly - is that I had this idea over the course of two full years, and kept procrastinating for various reasons. They were all legitimate, and obviously there is a time that Hashem decides is best, but we should be less hesitant to just suggest it. On the receiving end, if people embrace the suggestions then it would make it easier for people to offer up suggestions.

The Shidduch Rountable put up an initiative with 10k Batay Yisroel over the summer to suggest shidduchim and be entered into a raffle to win tickets to Eretz Yisroel. Inspired by that initiative, I redt this shidduch. This couple started dating the week after Tisha bav and got engaged a week and a half ago!

My son had Eli Levin sing for us by his Siyum 2 years ago. I was very moved.  Obviously, whenever I hear the Afikomen again I am re- inspired. I keep trying to redt shidduchim but I haven't had much success. So then I figured why not set up my own son, with an older girl.  His rebbe approved and the rest is history BH. As the mom of the Chosson I decided to try this shidduch - especially after listening to the afikoman song again and again

I started working at Yeshiva Darchei last year around January-February time. Chani is the secretary of 5th grade. Every day we would sit together and I wished I knew someone for her. While I was sitting in rabbi Kaplans office an idea hit me and I said you know what, let’s try it. I went upstairs and redt it to Chani and she immediately agreed. I didn’t have the boys number so I needed to figure out how to reach him. That night I went to Gourmet Glatt very late, which I never do, and the boys brother was there also! We called the boy and got the yes right away and they started dating right after Pesach. Had I not been in Rabbi Kaplan's office who knows if I would have thought of it! It should be L’zeicher Nishmas both of the Kedoshim.

The shidduch started in the beginning of July and was completed last night. I got the resume of the girl from Mrs. Gottinger and the boy I new through a cousin of his who is my neighbor, and from my sister-in-law. The emails you keep on sending are very inspiring!

I randomly met a cousin of my friend at a shabbos meal. I immediately recognized how much he changed in E"Y and thought he would be perfect for my childhood friend who had done the same. I redt the shidduch and I had the zechus of attending their l'chaim right before Succos. I always listen to Eli Levin's Afikoman song and it inspired me!

It was my friend and my husbands friend and we thought of it, redt it, were the go between and now they’re engaged! When we thought of it I was like maybe if this works out this can be towards the 10k Batay Yisroel!

I met the Chattan  at the Oorah Rebbetzins retreat spring 2022 and have been setting him up. We had a break, but some more suggestions came up I contacted him and he ended up coming for a meal shavuot 2023 since he happened to be in Monsey. Meanwhile, I went to Israel for my niece's wedding and another shadchan contacted me that she was sending me a girl for this boy I had posted. My first night in Israel 2:30 a.m I get a call from the boy I text back that it's 2:30 a.m I'm in Israel and I must sleep. Then I get a text from the girl "when is a good time to speak". I called her right away spoke to her for a half hour. I called the boy right after to let him know that she is interested in going out with him.  Bkitzur I didn't get to sleep till 11 a.m. A few weeks later while still in Israel I was on a trip to the kevarim by Tveria  Tzfat and Meron and we went to Amukah. I asked for the girl's full name and the boy's and as I'm sitting there the text comes in with their names I davened for both of them. It was the second time I was at Amukah. The first time was the year I was in seminary and bh within the year I was engaged. Baruch hashem this couple got engaged right b4 rosh Hashanah. A shidduch is from Hashem . I am so happy Hashem chose me to be his shaliach. I have been involved with many different shidduch organizations and with 10K Batay Yisroel. How was  10k Batay Yisroel an inspiration? To tell you the truth, it just is by knowing that we are helping others in anyway we can and bringing them simcha and that it will bring the Levin and Kaplan families simcha as well. This brings me tremendous simcha. Ken yirbu smachot byisrael.

I set up  my nephew  Tzvi  from  with my daughters friend Devora. I felt that their personalities, hashkafas and values were aligned and BH  they got engaged last week. What a beautiful request Mr. Levin asked of Hashem at the Leyava of his precious son Yisroel. Not a request for himself or his family but a request for all of Klal Yisrael.  How unbelievable and amazing and what strength he showed. Truly an inspiration for all of us.  May the precious pure neshomas of Elisheva and Yisraol have an aliya with each and every shidduch that is redt.  May the Levin and Kaplan families have much nachas from their  beautiful families  and may Elisheva and Yisrael always be remembered and may we follow in their amazing yet short footsteps. 10K Batay Yisroel was definitely a part of what inspired me to suggest it!

My daughter lives in the same building as Kaplan in israel.  So 10K Batay Yisroel is close to our hearts. I redt this shidduch between her nephew and my neighbor's daughter. You just dont give up bringing awareness about shidduchim public.   I am really impressed. It made me realize how regular people have to get involved.  I have redt lots of shidduchim but only a few have resulted in engagements.   I dont usually log them here, but i will try in the future.

I was at a wedding a few weeks ago when the boys mother approached me if I had a shidduch for her son. And as the girls were dancing i spotted a girl that i thought could be a great idea. This shidduch taught  me the gift of patience......it took a while till it kicked off ground. Yet when it started picking up momentum.....it just flew......b"h!!!! Since I have been a part of 10k family,  I have picked up so many tidbits of valuable advice......i don't find shidduchim so intimidating anymore. I realize that parents of children in shidduchim, or singles themselves are concerned and we can lend them the listening ear, the kind word of hopefulness and willingness to see what we can do for them. Yet the most valuable thing I have learned we can try and put in the effort, the outcome is not in our hands. Its in the hands of hashem. We will get our reward for our efforts of trying to do chessed. All this i have learned from this incredible organization. May it be a zechus aliyas neshama.

I've been wanting to set up my brother in law with my good friend since he went to Eretz Yisroel a year and half before they started dating bu of xourse it wasn't even looked at since he was totally not in shidduchim. For that entire time until he came back I brought up the idea to my mother in law every time I spoke to her (quite often) until I finally said "there's no one else he can marry besides for her!" That did it! They went out a few time and hit it off even better than I could've imagined! They are happily married now!

I have been redting shidduchim for the last few years and set up many dates but they weren't ending in engagements. I said the next shidduch I set up is not my zchus I will daven to Hashem in the zchus of Yisroel and Elisheva A"H. I davened throughout and kept in mind the whole time that they should be a meilitz yosher and help bring shidduchim... And Baruch Hashem this couple got engaged!! May you continue to be mezaka others to help make shidduchim for singles in klal Yisroel!

I had suggested an idea on a dating site. The young man agreed to go out with her, but the young lady was hesitant because she never had any good dates resulting from the site. I encouraged her to give it a try, because you never know! Baruch Hashem, she listened to me and they got engaged a few days ago! I think this goes to show that a person cannot get discouraged if a certain form of histadlus did not work out yet. Try to be open-minded and flexible...because you never know!! I have been involved with 10 Batay Yisroel since its inception. It encourages all of us to keep redting shidduchim because you never know when Hashem decides to make you the shaliach for a shidduch!

Since this organization was started, I am redding shidduchim leiluy nishma Yisroel and Elisheva o"h. This project motivated me like nothing else. I found it awe-inspiring when I was zoche to have a shidduch  happen on the day of their yahrzeit. I know the trajectory of the shidduch (it took about a year) and that it happened on that day was Hashgocha protis.

The boy was in my husband's class and my husband bumped into him in a store while he was buying challah since he decided to last minute stay in Monsey for shabbas. I sent my husband to the store to get some plastic cups and last minute cutlery for the event and my husband bumped into him. When my husband bumped into him, they schmoozed and caught up and he invited him to the Upsheirin. The boy showed up and I introduced him to a friend of mine who has a single friend. She set them up and they went out for a year and just got married last week!!! Because of this initiative, since it began, I was inspired to help make shidduchim. I try to chap any idea I have and try to redt it even though it may not be a perfect idea because you never know. Since the initiative we redt multiple shidduchim, a few first dates and bH and 2nd shidduch came from this 10k batei Yisroel. My husband and I were so pained about this beautiful couple and my husband and I took on the project to look out for others and build up the guts to set people up. It should be a zechus. Thank you for the opportunity and inspiration

BH I’m delighted to  put two Shidduchim on 10K Batay Yisroel. One yesterday and one today Making a shidduch is a true labour of love (Forgive the pun!) and absolute krias Yam Suf. Logging all the suggestions and first dates actually validates the many hours, time and effort a Shadchan puts in. It makes one realise that no suggestion or first date goes to waste and it is all part of a bigger picture. As it takes a myriad of suggestions and first dates to get to engagement. For me, there is almost nothing as meaningful and exhilarating as being zocheh to make a shidduch. It gives my whole week an extra dimensional joy and buzz. (My family will testify!) Families Levin and Kaplan are a constant source of inspiration to myself and Klal Yisroel and I feel privileged to be a part of this project. May the pure neshamahs of Yisrael and Elisheva continue to Schepp much nachas in shomayim as they see the many beautiful Batay Neeman being built in Klal Yisrael.

Over a year ago, my friend, Rebbetzin Aviva Zobin told me about an excellent dating mentor – Rebbetzin Rochel Goldbaum. Curious to hear Rochel, I got hold of her wonderful PA, Kathy Kaufman. Kathy directed me to 10K Batay Yisrroel, where I could request to hear Rochel Goldbaum’s talks. I was blown away by Rachel’s talks. (Shortly after, I signed up as the first British participant on Rochel’s mentoring course) Coming from the U.K., I had never heard of 10K Batay Yisroel. I was simultaneously blown away by Elisheva and Yisroel’s families. How they turned bitter tears into triumph and terrible adversity into building the future of Klal Yisroel. Their positivity, foresight, Emunah and Ahavas Yisroel were palpable and I felt that I wanted to be a part of this amazing initiative too. For the past months I have been logging my suggestions, and first dates on the website. (Please note the London / U.K.  logged on the site!:-))BH this is the third engagement I have had the zechus  to log on 10K Batay Yisroel. I hope to be zoche to be the shaliach of many more engagements in Klal Yisroel. IYH the pure neshamahs of Yisroel and Elisheva should have an aliya and continue to schep much nachas in Shomayim.

I am very happy to announce you the engagement of a new couple that I logged a few months ago. I just wanted to add an incredible thing I noticed that when I make a suggestion, every time I think of logging it in 10K, the shidduch works BH. I was very inspired when I heard about 10K a few years ago, and I think it’s so important to motivate people and to tell them that EVERYONE can be a shadhan and not only offical shadhanim. Since I know 10K, I am trying as far as I can to share this wonderful initiative with friends and family in France. I’ve been also inspired a lot by the song Afikomen. I wanted to say again a huge chazak for this great initiative. By the zchus of Ysroel and Elisheva always, May we always be more and more inspired to make beautiful shidduchims in klal yisroel

Baruch Hashem, after four long years of a dry spell – with Hashem’s help I just made another shidduch … for two 36-year-olds (never married)! Someone dubbed me “The Shadchan who never gives up!” I hope my success story will give chizuk to others out there to never give up, keep trying — because you never know when the next suggestion will be the one that works! My suggestions have been posted on this site since its beginning. I was waiting for the day, with Hashem’s help, to finally post an engagement, and baruch Hashem, now I can!

I was redt to a boy, he wasn’t what I was looking for so I said no. But when I was finding out information about him, I thought, “wow. He’s a great guy. I wonder if I have anyone for him.” Later that night, on old friend texted me. We haven’t been in touch that much that I would think of her on the spot but because she texted me that night I asked her to send me her resume saying, “I have a long shot….” Turns out it was basheret and bh they are engaged. 4 weeks after their Lchaim, I celebrated Mine! This initiative has been something that gave me so much chizuk throughout the dating process.  I have always tried re-redting the boys I went out with to other girls. I never got a couple to go out though and it was extremely disheartening to keep trying and putting myself out there. Bh I was chosen to be a shaliach for this one and I am so grateful! The song afikomen is one that I listen to on repeat….i have always been inspired by it and now I feel like I can take a small part in this incredible initiative and I am not going to stop here!

As a single girl in shidduchim, I remember how much chizzuk I used to get from all the amazing speeches 10k Batay Yisroel had. I remember how good it felt to get phone calls from people thinking of me and suggesting different ideas. When I became a kallah, I remember the amazing feeling it felt to be done with shidduchim and to finally have my dream come true. I remembered thinking that I will do whatever I can to help my friends and anyone who needs a shidduch to get to the same stage.I decided to start logging all my redts on 10k Batay Yisroel, as a zechus for them as they gave me tremendous Chizuk. I had a close seminary friend of mine, who I got together with one night. She was asking me if I had any ideas for her after she discussed with me what she was looking for. I told her that I will try to think of an idea. The next day at work, one of my workmates mentioned something about a date he was going on which made me realize that he wasn’t married. After asking him what he is looking for, I told him I will keep him in mind. About a week later, I was driving and the idea just popped in my head- my co-worker for my friend from seminary. The next day at work, I told the boy about my idea. He said it sounded good and will have his mother look into it. I then logged it on 10k batay yisroel thinking that it should be a zechus for everyone to have clarity. After redting it, I decided to call someone who knew both sides and asked her what she thought of the shidduch idea. Surprisingly, she told me it was not a good idea at all and she just doesn’t see it. I decided that I had an obligation towards helping my friend, so I continued to push the idea regardless. A few weeks later I got a yes from both sides. The siyata dishmaya that came after was truly amazing. Every date they went on just got better and better and really progressed so smoothly. After a few dates, they were both ready. I feel so privileged that I had the zechus of being a shliach and making a shidduch, as well as being able to be part of such a special organization. It truly was a win- win for me!

I’ve been spending countless hours on shidduchim for about 3 years. A lot of couples were going out as a result but nobody was getting engaged. I can’t claim that this is the reason as we don’t know Hashem’s cheshbonos. But as soon as I began dedicating shidduchim to the precious couple things started moving forward.

My husband and I are friends with the Kaplan family and when the tragedy happened we were having a difficult time understanding how something like this could happen to such a wonderful family. I have been making shidduchim for 45 years and know how difficult it is to put two people together and make it a successful shidduch. I decided that from the time the tragedy happened from then on I would do matches in memory of Elisheva and Yisroel. It should not have to take a loss for people to think of matching singles. To me it is second nature. I look at a single and think who would match to this person? I have been on syas for 15 years and this gives me a chance to help my friends and other clients find dates and hopefully shidduchim. I am grateful to Hashem that my 4 children quadruplets found their zivugim so now it is time for payback and try to help others find their beshert. It also took a long time for me to find my own beshert and BH we just celebrated our 43 wedding anniversary. For all these reasons of Bracha I continue to facilitate matches with Hashem’s help.

A Gutten Moed, I can not explain enough how this wonderful organization is what has given me the drive to redt shidduchim. I used to think that success is measured by the outcome, yet I now know otherwise. It is with all the insight , information, tips, tools and encouragement that 10K offers – this is what keeps me going. It is in the zechus of the Yisroel a”h and Elisheva a”h that was the catalyst of the birth of this organization , which has bought down so much good to the world!!! Success in my eyes has been  redefined. It is about picking up the phone,  and letting someone know that they are being thought of. It is being kind and compassionate taking the other persons feelings into account, it is about gently guiding and trying to bring shidduchim to the finish line…..that is WHAT COUNTS! Actually bringing a shidduch to fruition is a matnas chinam from Hashem. This shidduch came about in a roundabout way. An old acquaintance of mine reached out to me about a shidduch for her daughter. It got me thinking and realized she would be suited for a different friends son. I suggested  the shidduch, yet the boy was just starting out and it took a lot of persistence on my part to get the ball rolling….as he had many shidduch offers.  Due to the fact that it was my two friends kids I treaded with caution. There were two snags along the way, yet it was so clear to me that it is yad hashem, and that there is nothing that i can do to shake and move things along. I was compassionate to the sides during the “snags” and davened to hashem if it is bashert it should pass….B”h with the guidance of daas torah (and we as yidden never lose out when reaching out to our rabbanim)….the shidduch came to be!!!

I am delighted to let you and Liba know that I was zoche to be a shadchan who saw a shidduch to fruition FINALLY.. after a  year of trying and trying since the last shidduch I was fortunate to be the shaliach for… My last shidduch was August ’21 – #305 on my list that I keep since the 10K project was launched and I started to redt shidduchim for their aliyas neshama and record the shidduchim I suggested. The boy wasnt listening yet so I waited and then it took a while to get it off the ground. I was up to redting #661 when they got engaged! This shidduch was #833 but it also took a little while to get it going and I am up to #896 now when it happened. As I began to write this email, it struck me that this shidduch is so close to home. The boy’s mother is my close friend, and she is LIba’s too! May this shidduch and every other one I redt be an aliyas neshoma for Yisroel and Elisheva o”h.

I have been redting shidduchim for many years. I am not a professional shadchan, just someone that tried to help others, and have done a few shidduchim over the years. I do recall clearly a point that I was very burned out with different challenges that arose in the shidduchim I was dealing with, and I kind of figured I will “call it a day” and move on with other forms of chessed. It was at that point that when mentioning it to a family  member that I am leaving shidduchim to others, she introduced me to your outstanding organization! I have gotten so many tips, chizuk, and halachic guidance over the last few years. It has given me the skills to chart the waters of this avodos hakodesh. I see each time I reach out to parents or singles themselves who are struggling in the parsha it gives them so much chizuk knowing they are being thought of. 10K has given me so much, the least I can do is to continue trying to help others. The most integral lesson I have learned is I try to redt shidduchim but the outcome is not in my hands. I leave it to the ribbono shel olam. Bringing this last shidduch to completion really strengthened that belief. In addition I have learned not to get emotionally enmeshed in any shidduch I suggest, and if people are not always so nice when I deal with them its ok, they might be hurting.  I try to be kind to all and accept if they say its not for me, I don’t look to push my agenda onto others. I have learned so much sensitivity, halachos and tips, and have gotten so much chizuk from this forum. I suggested a shidduch between two acquaintances of my children. My friend called me after a few days that it is not the right type for her daughter. A few weeks later her uncle called me and said “you suggested a shidduch for my great-niece that was not for her yet my niece thinks it is a good idea for my daughter” So that is how I got introduced to this girl. That shidduch did not end up working out. Yet a short while later I thought of this other idea for her. And b”H straight from start they hit it off well. And the shidduch zipped to finish line so easily and smoothly, what a matnas chinam! It just showed me that when Hashem decides it is the right one, and it should go smoothly it does. And I always keep in mind: I do my best by trying and leave the outcome to the One above.

I was talking on the phone with my good friend and she casually mentioned that she wonders what type of girl her brother would marry and I thought of another one of our mutual friends to her as an idea. She got a shadchan to redt it and they got engaged! It was such a good feeling to be part of making a shidduch and I hope I will be able to make many more shidduchim. I am cousins with the kaplan family and I read so many 10k stories on the website that it pushed me to mention an idea if I think it might work out.

My mother grew up with Elisheva Kaplan Z’L mom. Ever since the levaya, I took the initiative even though I am 25 and single. No pictures were shared before they went out.  BH they just got engaged! Such a Zechus to be apart of this shidduch. This should be an Aliyah Neshama for both Yisroel A”H and Elisheva A”H, a nechama to the Levin and Kaplan families. I started redting  shidduchim because of this!

Yes had them in mind, of course. Each shidduch made is another amazing hashgacha! I was a little hesitant redting a shidduch idea I had because I didn’t want the other party to think I was redting them second class but I knew for various reasons it was a really good idea!  I thought I have nothing to lose and only what go gain perhaps so I ran the idea to the party that was ‘giving in’ first to see if they would even consider the idea.  After much thought they realized it was silly not to go ahead with the idea, bh  it  ended well…..was a match made in heaven!!! Another idea I had for a while but for reasons I can’t get into they didn’t want to listen to the idea. Eventually I said this is rediculous,  I have to get in through a back door. I called their Rav and he was able to smooth things out and help them see the ‘light’. They are beyond ecstatic that things turned into a beautiful Mazel tov!!

Mazel tov! I’m so happy to be able to share another 10k Batay yisroel engagement!  While every shidduch is super exciting, I find this shidduch especially meaningful for two reasons: Firstly, I try and make an extra effort for girls coming from Toronto, the city that I grew up in and Cleveland girls as well, the city that has become my home  and where  I am raising my family.  This couple is a Toronto/Cleveland couple. Secondly, this was another random encounter, where I met the girls mother in the parking lot outside the butcher shop and she asked me to meet her daughter. As we know, there is nothing random. The fact that I was leaving the butcher shop while she was coming in was clearly orchestrated from Above. Once again, I thank 10k Batay Yisroel for spreading the importance of  non-shadchanim looking out for our singles.

I thought of the idea a while ago but I didn’t really know the girl so well and the boy was my husbands friend so I wasn’t so confident. But I decided to just go or it because what’s the worst that could happen? I can redt it and they would say no but at least I tried. So I reached out to a few people and redt the idea and both sides said yes! Because I’m young and not the closest friends with the girl I took a step back an let a Shadchan take over so that the boy and the girl would feel more comfortable. I kept on checking in with the progress every once in a while and then this week I got the amazing news that they were getting engaged! I am so excited for them! Since I was young it was my dream to make a shidduch and Hashem has helped me to fulfill that dream and be a small part in building another Bayis Neeman Biyisroel. The story of Elisheva and Yisroel impacted me greatly as I was a girl from TAG and knew the Kalplan family. This organization helped to push me to redt the ideas that I had thought of but was too nervous to actually redt. sometimes I was nervous because I didn’t want to be rejected for my idea and sometimes because it was just a gut feeling and not with so many real reasons. But I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and redt many shidduchim with many of them not even making it to the first date. Then this idea came along and I was by far the most uncomfortable resting it but I pushed myself and Baruch HaShem it paid off!

I am delighted to share another 10k Batay Yiisroel engagement BH!  This shidduch has taught me the value of persistence. It has also showed me that when an idea comes your way, to act on it.  I am so grateful for the zchus to be the shaliach and so happy that I made that one original phone call that  someone had asked me to make.

My oldest child was in shidduchim for a while, and I went online in search of chizuk. I came across the Batay yisroel website which gave me much chizuk. It inspired me so much that I became determined to try to help other people find their zivugim too. An acquaintance happened to tell me all about her daughter and what she was looking for in a husband, and another friend told me all about her son. They sounded perfect for each other, so I called both sides to confirm that it sounded suitable to them too. It was, so I redt the shidduch! BH it was a match, chosson and kallah are perfect for each other! This is the first shidduch I made, Hashem guided me and put this idea in my head!  It feels like such a huge zchus to be Hashem’s sh’liach in bringing this chosson and kallah together!   … and right around the time that I redt this shidduch, my own child got engaged BH! It should be a zchus for an aliyah neshama for Yisroel and Elisheva a’h.

I was very encouraged to make the phone call and suggest the shidduch after reading all the encouragement from 10k batay yisroel… that you don’t need to be an official shadchan to make a suggestion.. rather it’s  something anyone can do.. and we’re all responsible to try. So without knowing if this idea might work… once it came onto my head, I right away made the call… and one step led to the next till they actually got engaged! This organization is what gave me the push! May Yisroel and Elisheva’s a”h neshamos have aliya from this new home started in klal yisroel..

Mazel tov! I’m so  excited to be able to register another engagement with 10k Batay Yisroel. Bh!  Every shidduch comes along with its own story and extra dose of siyata d’shmaya and like always, this time the siyata d’shmaya was incredibly clear. Over Chanukah, my sisters and I teamed up and  joined the 10k shidduch contest. We worked really hard, yet did not see success from the particular shidduchim that we had redt over Chanukah. I believe that while this was not a Chanukah shidduch, part of the success is attributed to all the effort and time that we put into that initiative because our efforts are never in vain even if the results are not immediate or evident.

I always thought after redting a shidduch I would be ecstatic, so proud of what I did, but I have to say, after this shidduch I felt none of that. I felt humbled. I feel like I was just the shaliach that Hashem chose to bring this couple together and I am so happy to witness it. I wanted to thank 10K. Your organization gave me the strength to keep on going when things got tough. I have been trying to help out and redt shidduchim for over 10 years and there were many times that I have been discouraged, 10k inspired me to keep on trying, and I am so happy I did. This shidduch that I made was not an easy one. I truly felt like Yisroel and Elisheva had a hand in making this shidduch happen.

I’m not sure how I heard about this website but when I did find out about it, it hit something in my heart. It made me sad because of the circumstances that spurred this campagin but it also inspired me. Mi kamcha yesrol who rise up in the face of pain. Who try and make others happy when they themselves are suffering untold hurt. A Truly magnificent nation we are. The one and only thing I learned from “making a shidduch” is that I dont make shidduchim Hakadosh Baruch Hu makes shidduchim. It is clear as day that I may very much think it will work- she is deep and he is deep, she has brown hair and he has brown hair, she likes nice things oh he likes nice things, he wants to learn she wants him to learn! All the boxes can be checked off with big smiley faces… But If Hakadosh Baruch Hu “says” no. No is no. You can beg people to listen to u, u can give your pitch for hours, You can Find the perfect lounge with just the right amount of people and you can even offer to drive the couple to the date and pay for gas… but u cant make a shidduch work if it is just not meant to work. Hashem is in control and that is apparent when it comes to shidduchim. That being said. I honestly did not put to much thought in my suggestion. It was kind of a shot in the dark. I didn’t spend hours comparing the potential couple seeing if they would click. I just forwarded a resume… and like they say the rest is history. Baruch Hashem I was bentched to be a shaliach for a very special zechus. I’m so very thankful and so very happy that I had this opportunity.  I hope that this special z’chus should be leloi nishamas Yisroel a”h and Elisheva a”h.

Yisroel is my cousin and we got extra close when we were in eretz yisroel together with our diras on the same block.. I was so excited to do something special for him. Throughout the whole shidduch we saw so much siyata dishmaya & during the whole dating period we kept saying how we were doing this for Yisroel & Elisheva. We felt like we had extra help from them.. It’s the story of a beautiful young girl of 27 who really struggled with shidduhim despite her great midos. She met this great boy at a shiour torah a few months ago, but with all the covid thing, it took a long time for both of them to make a decision. She hesitated a long time to go on the shidduch because he wasn’t like the guy she always imagined. So she asked me to speak to the boy to check if I think it could match. I spoke to him and to her many times in order to convince them to make the step. Both of them were not very sure, BH they recently got engaged juste before Chanuka. At a moment i felt that both of them wanted to make a break, because they hesitated and the shidduch went on in a large period of time. So I remembered of 10K and of the story of Yisroel and Elicheva a’h, and I prayed Hashem to help them by their zhut. I was so happy when they announced me that they made the step!! May it be as a great zchus for Ysroel and Elicheva and ken yrbou!

I made a shidduch last week! I redt shidduchim daily and this was the first successful shidduch where I did not know either side before I saw their resumes. I had reached out to the kallah’s mother about her son and he was busy so she told me about her daughter. I thought of the chosson from seeing his resume on Ezer Kenegdo. When the kallah’s mother told me about her daughter I quickly found her profile on Ezer Kenegdo as well and I went for it! The shidduch had been redt a few years ago but it wasn’t nagoya then, and this round they went out BH. The chosson is a relative of another shidduch I made and I greatly enjoyed working with his relative’s family. BOTH mothers in this shidduch were sweet, kind, and appreciative. One mother sent me an Amazon gift card after the second date, just to thank me for my time and then after a few more dates I received a gift tray from The Nuttery for Shabbos! I live in Milwaukee…this w as such a treat!!! My kids also felt like they were rewarded for their sacrifice of time and attention when I am working on a shidduch. Attention parents of singles: Send chocolate to people who work on your kids’ shidduchim!! It goes a long way! Verbal praise and appreciation is also greatly valued :). Batay Yisroel is on my mind constantly. The Levin and Kaplan Families took the greatest pain and cultivated a movement that is so far reaching, it comes up at shabbos meals and in teachers’ lounges. They are true role models of resiliency and taking from their own trauma to help Klal Yisroel. The emails and initiatives are amazing and I am so excited when I hear other people being osek in shidduchim. We ALL need to keep trying to think of ideas. If you can’t redt an idea because of time or other barriers, have someone else do it! Call your Rav, Rebbetzin, friendly neighbor. It does take courage, but it is so worth it. I have to credit R’ Shalom Blatter who spends his days and nights organizing, assembling, emailing and advocating for singles. I spoke to him over Sukkos and he told me point blank: “Mrs. Hellman, if you are involved with shidduchim you may not do any other chesed! Other people can make meals and give tzedakah, YOU must do this!!” I kept hearing his voice in my head and trying to think of ideas. When I sent a list to Batay Yisroel yesterday, I started to realize how hard I try. My family has experienced personal yeshuos from being osek in this incredible mitzvah and I encourage every person to take a risk and redt a shidduch. Any part that you have in the story brings bracha and yeshua into your lives…you truly are a partner with Hashem. May this special mitzvah continue to be a zechus for Yisroel a’h and Elisheva a’h and may their families continue this incredible Avodas HaKodesh and nechama from their pain.

“I know the chosson’s sister from seminary and the Kallah from sleepaway camp. I was schmoozing with my friend and she asked if I knew anyone for her brother. The idea popped into my head of this girl form camp (who barely remembered me when I reached out to her!) The girl and I had few interactions in camp but enough that I knew a little about her. They went out starting last year November, got engaged in the summer, and the wedding is tomorrow! Baruch HaShem!   Siyata DiShmaya I saw in the process was that I never met my friend’s brother directly, and rather I only knew about him through my friend, and the girl I knew from camp was because I was close friends with her co-counselor, so I would spend some time in their bunk. I feel a tremendous zechus to have been the shaliyach to bring these two individuals together. This project inspires me because of the unbelievable potential there is in making a suggestion. I wish for Yisroel and Elisheva’s merit to continue through this project and future couples building batei ne’emans byisrael.  Baruch HaShem this one worked out!! Davening hard for more!”

This past Pessach my brother’s friend came over to my parents house. He was talking about how his dating was going with a girl he was currently dating. He then went on to talk about his older 26 year old sister who needs a shiduch. I thought of my brother-in-law who was 27. I contacted my mother-in-law after the Chag and they went out. I was the go between and I contacted Das Torah to help guide me when necessary. BH they got married November 8th! Only Simchas! 10K encouraged me to make a shiduch. I always wanted to make a shiduch. However, it made me more aware and realize how one person can make an impact if we all try to look out for others and think of someone for them. It made me less afraid to try and suggest people. It can’t hurt! Keep encouraging others and may it continue to be a huge zechus for Yisroel and Elisheva and may their neshama have a tremendous aliya.”

“I always try to set ppl up that I know. Ive been trying to unofficially set ppl up the last few years, especially since I feel like there is hashgacha involved because I always log my suggestions on 10k website. I’ve set up many ppl, worked many many hours on various shidduchim, none that got engaged but I felt like I was doing my hishtadlus. At times though I did feel like giving up as it can get draining when a shidduch doesn’t go anywhere after spending alot of time on it. For this particular couple, I started shmoozing with a stranger in the park, and I realized that I vaguely knew of her sister. I started thinking of a guy, and feeling silly (because I had no idea exactly what her sister was looking for and I never met her sister), I suggested a friend of my husband’s. It wasn’t smooth sailing, but BH a few months later, they are engaged. I’m sharing this story so that people can realize that even when you feel silly or are questioned for bringing up shidduchim in the most random places/ times, to ppl you might not know well, You never know what could come from it, and that is 100% worth feeling slightly uncomfortable for. I am so happy for this special couple and it should be an Aliyas Neshamah for Yisroel ben Yeshayahu Halevi and Elisheva Basya bas Yechiel Ephraim. It has given me the courage to bring up shidduchim in any given situation without caring about rejection or people wondering why I care to set up their friend/relative. It used feel, to me at least, that you either were a professional shadchan or others were wary of why you want to set up a shidduch. Now, it has become more accepted for regular people to make shidduchim.”

I have always tried to set people up…B”H I got many girls and boys on dates but each time things fell through I felt somewhat discouraged as nothing ever materialized. I kept seeing the 10K Baty Yisroel initiative being advertised and it encouraged me to keep thinking and continue to try and set people up. Somewhat more recently, someone shared with me Rabbi Levin’s speech from the levaya along with the Afikomen song. I was so taken by the song and its words and I find myself listening to it quite often as it has such an unusually strong message. I am so happy to share that the chizzuk you imbued in Klal Yisroel through seeing how you reacted to a Nisayon that is so tremendous and unfathomable, gave me such chizzuk to try and act on your words and help with shidduchim in the klal… With tremendous Siyaata Dishmaya I was zoche to be a shaliach of Hashem and had the zechus to see an idea I thought of materialize and they just got engaged!!! This is also the first shidduch that I made! The feeling is surreal, and the simcha is overwhelming! My friend is now my cousin!! As the tragedy really touched me, I follow the progress of 10K Batay Yisroel to keep track of where we are holding in our efforts in their zechus.  Knowing that I would log it on the website, gave me a push to actually call up and push the shidduch. I actually made 9 shidduchim this yr bli ayin hara. It should be a big zchus for Yisroel and Elisheva a”h. I take shidduchim very seriously, if an idea comes to my mind I know it’s from hashem and I want to make sure it’s not shut down unless it’s really necessary. I really try to hear the dater and his/her concerns. Sometimes they are real concerns but sometimes they aren’t. I try to suggest to them to tell me his/her maalos and then I say I hear your concern, were not in a rush to say no yet, so it’s a yes for now and then we’ll see. When they see it’s not a pressure and there’s no train to catch they can usually be persuaded to keep trying until they’re 100 percent sure it’s not for them before they say no. Key is to be 100 percent sure before they make a final decision, not 80 & not 90. Many of my shidduchim with Hashems guidance happened from this method. Many were giving up before they really knew. I hope to continue having siyata dishmaya, to continue to help build yiddishe homes, and ultimately greet Yisroel and Elisheva.”

As I registered their engagement on your website it hit me. Yisrael and Elisheva were advocating for this match. Then a few months ago the mother started asking me about different girls and for whatever reason none of them were for him. Then I thought of this friend again and they for sure matched up hashkafically but I wasn’t sure personality or whatever. I was nervous to redt it because I didn’t want anyone being upset or insulted or whatever. Then a different friend pushed me to redt it. Ever since 10K Batay Yisroel was founded, I changed my approach to redting and becoming involved in shidduchim. After hearing Rabbi Levin’s request from HaKodosh Baruch Hu and knowing the Kaplan’s humble acceptance with pure Emunah, one cannot remain unchanged.   I knew Elisheva and her genuine smile and cheer, she is truly missed. I am sure Yisroel was the perfect balance in outstanding middos as well. Since then, I have pushed myself to act on ideas and become more involved with shidduchim.  Without a doubt all the shidduchim I redt now or become involved in are with the drive to perpetuate the memory of Elisheva and Yisroel A’H. May each of their neshamos have continued Aliyos. I look forward to the day when they will be greeted by all the couples and their families created through their Zechusim. Regarding the shidduch, there was much siyata d’shmaya as the idea just “popped” in my head.  It was so “random” but so clear.  And there was much hashgacha too; from me and my girls having to change seats in Shul and end up sitting  near someone new to the Shul and introducing ourselves.; to my son just having to need to come home in a week during camp and having it be right after the 9 days and he desperate for a haircut; and finally we were trying to get a regular appointment and couldn’t which, made it necessary for the Bochur to come to my house for a private haircut.  All these ‘coincidences’ lead to the shidduch happening.  Hashem’s hand my be hidden but He surely made the shidduch happen in a magnificent way. May Hashem bless you all for all you do. Bracha and Hatzlacha. Chag Kasher V’sameach,

Ever since I was in high school I dreamed of making a shidduch. When I first saw the ads appearing for 10K Batay Yisroel I mistakenly thought that they had shadchanim on board who redt the shidduchim that people suggested. I thought it was a brilliant idea as I was a 12th grader who didn’t think anyone would take my suggestions seriously. Once I realized what the organization was actually about I thought “You know what? I should really just suggest the ideas myself. It’s probably not so bad” At that point I didn’t have any particular idea in mind but I still wished to make a shidduch. Then I entered shidduchim myself and I was finding it easier to make suggestions and I definitely knew many girls in need of a shidduch. After going out with a boy that was not for me I came home and the name of a girl I knew just popped into my head. I have no idea what made me think of her as I have many friends who were looking for that kind of boy – it was clearly Min HaShamayim. BH they were engaged shortly after and just got married last week! I am so happy to have the z’chus to have a part in this amazing cause. Tizku L’Mittzvos

“While I was waiting to get a bracha from the Sasav  Rebbe, I started talking to the woman after me.  Someone asked to go ahead of us and my husband said yes. The man ended up spending a long time with the Rebbe. When he came out he told my husband sorry I was long, the rebbe kept me. Meanwhile, while waiting, I was talking to the lady who was behind me in line and I ended up suggesting her son for my neighbor. BH they are now engaged! This should be a zechos for an Aliyas Nishama for Yisroel and Elisheva! I followed 10K Batay Yisroel from when it was started and tried many times to suggest boy and girls. I was inspired from Rabbi Levin and BH just made my second shidduch this year.”

“BH  another engagement!!! Hodu Lahashem ki tov. My son in law had the idea to suggest his friend for his cousin. He asked me to facilitate it. Unbeknownst to my son in law, this boy’s grandmother had called me about 2 years ago and asked me to find a shidduch for her grandson. I remember thinking about him briefly and actually coming  up with a few ideas but didn’t feel that I really know enough about him to set him up. Bh my son in law was on target with his idea. I always think about what our Rav, Rav Boruch Hirschfeld of Cleveland shared with us at a shidduch meeting. Hishtadlus brings down Brocha and Siyata d’shmaya even if the result that we were hoping for doesn’t happen. Perhaps my efforts two years ago were the beginning of the process of this shidduch happening two years later. This concept inspires me to continue trying even if we don’t see the results because no efforts in the realm of shidduchim are wasted. I was involved in shidduchim and actually BH made a few quite a few years ago. Life got hectic with raising a large family, work, community and family obligations and I stopped  prioritizing shidduchim. 10k Batay Yisroel inspired me to reconfigure and once again put my efforts into shidduchim. BH, since I started again, this is my 4th successful shidduch..”

“I was working in a nursing home during COVID-19 and one day I noticed an old family friend Sara* who I hadn’t seen in almost 10 years. She told me that she was completing an internship in order to finish off her schooling to become a registered dietician. We were both single and obviously did what was natural and sent each other’s resumes to one another with “I’m gonna try to think of someone for you”. I started dating someone soon after and Baruch Hashem I became a kallah. During one of our ‘outings’ after our vort, my chosson began describing one of his friends to me and asked if I had any ideas for him. It would not have occurred to me to mention Sara’s* name, besides for the fact that I had just caught up with her and she was on my mind! My chosson told his friend that I thought it was a good idea and his mother called me for info. We spoke for a while and I obviously raved – she’s the best 🙂 and…a little while later, Baruch Hashem, we were invited to the Lchaim! It is the best feeling ever to help a Shidduch come to fruition. My chosson was good friends with Yisroel A”H and I remember him talking so fondly about him while we were dating. I hope that this small / big act of chesed we did together will be a zchus for him and Elisheva and bring nechama to their families iyH.”

First I just want to say that I love 10K Batay Yisroel! It’s very inspirational to see how every Shidduch suggestion really counts, and if you have an idea, you should definitely try to redt it, because you can really make a difference! In terms of the shidduch story of how this match came about: I run Tehillim for Shidduchim (you can click bit.ly/TehillimforShidduchim to join), and on my groups I sometimes offer the opportunity for singles to send in a resume to me if they would like, and I will keep them in mind for any ideas that I have for them. I can’t make any promises — I am not a famous shadchan, and I don’t have as many resumes in my network. However, I B”H try my best to do what I can with the resumes that I have. I received the boy’s resume first, and the girl’s resume was sent my way a little while later. The *very same day*  that I received this girl’s resume, I sent it to the boy as an idea. I knew each of their personalities well, and based on that it made sense that this could potentially be a match, so I decided to try it. Baruch Hashem, it ended up working out, and they are engaged now 🙂 When you have an idea, try to suggest it right away! Zrizim Makdimim Lemitzvos!! I also wanted to share with the Levin family that when I redt this shidduch, I had in mind that it should specifically be in the zchus for Yisroel and Elisheva’s neshamos to have an aliyah, and when I sent the idea out, I sent it with a note that the suggestion should be in the zchus for Yisroel and Elisheva’s neshamos having an aliyah. I’m sure they had a part in helping this shidduch go smoothly! Although I was making suggestions before hearing of 10K Batay Yisroel, after hearing about them, I sent many more ideas! They provide so many resources, such as tips and links and small videos of different things to keep in mind when suggesting a shidduch. These resources have been very helpful, and I really pay attention to them and owe a lot of thanks to 10K Batay Yisroel for everything they have provided! Some of my work in shidduchim may not have happened if I hadn’t read a certain thing on the chat, or been inspired by an email posted, or opened a link sent in the chat, so please keep going with this amazing organization!!

My daughter Malka Weingarten is actually the shadchan for this shidduch. When she redt the shidduch I told her that I would register the suggestion for her because I told her that it would be a zechus for Yisroel and Elisheva and that zechus could help make the shidduch successful! The chosson is 26 from Brooklyn and the kallah is 23 from Lakewood. I was very moved by my niece, Miriam Koval who made my son’s shidduch #31, told me that she registers all the shidduchim that she redds. I wanted to follow her example.

“For 20 years I have been unprofessionally  involved In Shidduchim . When our children started the parsha I got involved a bit more actively, as I got resumes on a daily basis. Eventually I founded my own Shidduch Group with vetted Shadchaniot joining me. At the time of the tragedy one of our sons was also dating in the US and my husband was very concerned about the weekend trips from Baltimore to New York. When I signed up for 10k I said all of my suggestions will be in memory of Yisroel and Elisheva, hoping to get a siyata dishmaya to be successful and also shared a 10K Post on our group. I was zoiche to make 3 Shidduchim recently- the latest today and thought to let you know. People do appreciate the suggestions, especially as you suggest something you considered “good enough for yourself” to them. I actually never spent the Shadchanus Gelt from all these years back as I was waiting for something special, that I really wanted to have. Eventually the purpose was found with a new Sefer Torah. https://anash.org/uaes-first-torah-was-sponsored-by-shidduchim/

With gratitude to HKB”H and much thanks to 10K Batay Yisroel I am delighted to report that my son and I redt a successful shidduch!!!! 10K provided me tremendous inspiration in keeping the message of the chashivus and ability for all members of Klal Yisroel to think and suggest for others at the forefront of people’s minds. 10K’s message has caused me to daven: Hashem please help me make good shidduch suggestions. 10K’s message has encouraged me to network, to think of ideas – whether in the back of my mind or proactively with a pen and paper. 10K’s message has taught us that we are all in this together and we can be transcendent and selfless in our thinking. I also believe the numbers are far far greater than what is listed on the website. In this engagement story: On Chol Hamoed, when my son was home from yeshiva, I told my son what my close friend’s daughter was looking for. Since my son knows her father from shul for years, he thought about the father and the ‘criteria’ I told him about.  He thought of each boy from his yeshiva and mentally tried it on for size for that family. He confidently gave me a name a number a few hours later and the talking points of the boy’s maalehs and why he saw it as a fit.  I held off a few days with calling her and each day my son nudged me did you call yet? He really gets the credit for pushing this. At the Vort my husband and I marveled when meeting the boy and feeling that indeed this boy was like the young version of the girls father, like a long lost son!! Be”H may this new couple build a bayis neeman beyisroel, a binyan adei ad, and may the neshamos of  Yisroel A”H and Elisheva Basya A”H  have an aliyah. “This summer, a woman recommended I reach out to Batay Yisrael for chizuk and advice for a family member of mine who has been in shidduchim for a number of years already. The woman who responded was very sensitive and gave me some ideas about hosting shidduch meetings. Looking at the website got me inspired to do my part  to pay into the system that I hope will work for me. I bought a bungalow last year in a specific colony. One day in the summer, I noticed my neighbor in the colony and said to myself, “What a good girl, who can I think of for her?” A neighbor I know from home popped into my mind and I got working. I kept thinking, “Hashem, let this be a zechus for my family member.” Baruch Hashem, the shidduch went through. Today, as I prepare to go to the vort of “my shidduch” a co-worker came up to me and redt a shidduch to my family member. She said, “I got a yes from my brother, I think he would be perfect. It did take a while to push though, but I kept mentioning it again, asking what was going on (I give credit credit to my mother for pushing me to do so!) Thank you so much, it is only due to inspiration I heard  from this program that I began thinking of shidduchim for people on a more consistent basis. I heard someone mention (I think from one of the 10K batay yisroel events) that everyone should talk to their friends on the phone for even just five minutes at a time (or a half hour a week) and mention names in order for shidduchim to come about through that. “I was zoche to live around the corner from the Levins for 7 years, during which I heard Megillah at their welcoming home several times. I learned a lot from Mrs. Levin without her realizing it, especially about maintaining a calm demeanor even with a houseful of children and no matter what is going on. I was zoche to know the Kaplans from the many summers my family spent at BVG (1991-2000). I had redt lots of shidduchim from when I was in my late teens until late twenties; two shidduchim that I redt when I was 18 materialized, but I did not serve as the go-between. Then my life became too hectic to spend time redting shidduchim, so I stopped for about ten years. Then, three and a half years ago, an obvious shidduch came up: my childhood neighbor and my cousin. The families live down the block from each other and knew each other for years. Even after that shidduch, I still felt that I was too busy to redt shidduchim. Then 10K Batay Yisroel was founded, and I really wanted to join the Levin and Kaplan families in creating a “binyan adei ad” for Yisroel and Elisheva A”H. I started redting shidduchim again, but I was limited to the people I knew or heard of, and I realized that I needed to expand my pool of people looking for a shidduch. I have a friend who got married at 28 and had been married for a few years and was waiting for children. She started a shidduch group, and we had our first meeting on Chanukah 2018 (on my grandfather’s Yahrtzeit– he was a big proponent of redting shidduchim and encouraged me to do so). There were just a few of us participating, so my friend subscribed to receive singles’ profiles from Sholom Blatter so we’d have a wider pool to work with. None of us in the group have much time to devote to the cause, but we’re all doing the best we could. At one point, I made a rule for myself: redt a shidduch a day. I would not go to sleep at night without having redt a shidduch that day. Some were done by phone, but most were redt via email. Early each morning, I picked one single I knew and scrolled through all the profiles in the appropriate folder in our shidduch email account (eg “Males 30s”) until I found one that looked suitable, and I sent an email asking if he’d heard of her. I kept that up for a few months. At this point in time, I probably suggest a shidduch a week, on average. I would have gotten “burnout” from redting so many shidduchim and getting nowhere, but two things kept me going. One was knowing that this is what Hashem wants from me since He gave me strengths in networking and connecting with others. The other thing that kept me going was actually not a thing but a person, and actually not one person but two. My friend who started the shidduch group and I each had a baby boy approximately one year after that first meeting! If I wasn’t seeing results in shidduchim, I definitely felt that my little matnas chinam was a reward for my efforts and my efforts were spurred by 10K Batay Yisroel. Someone I know suggested her niece for a relative of mine, and while she didn’t seem right for him, she sounded perfect for his friend and neighbor, whose family I know well. With masks required indoors and high temperatures and humidity outdoors (Lakewood and Baltimore), dating was…whatever, BH they are happily engaged! Interestingly, the boy spent his summers at BVG, and his family still goes there as well.”

“Hashem has a way of making things happen. I always tell people that on Chanukah we light the Chanukiah in the window to accomplish Pirsumay Nissa (proclaiming the miracle or making the miracle famous). Even today, each one of us has experienced our own miracles in our lives that we know and realize that Hashem was in charge of making it happen. Yad Hashem is very powerful. There are no coincidences in life. When one makes a match the one who orchestrated it all was Yad Hashem. He gave me the honorable job of being the Shaliach. I have been told that using wine under the Chupah is very significant. Wine/ Gephen stands for Gezunt, Parnasah and Nachas. “Hi and a huge chazak for this incredible organization. My first idea of redting a shidduch came from one of my job colleagues. He asked me to find someone for his young brother. I tried out many times but it didn’t worked out. A few weeks before the quarantine, the idea of the schidduch, came out to me. About three months later BH, they got engaged, two weeks ago.  I thank Hashem a lot to give me this incredible opporunity to contribute to build new batim beyisroel!! This project was very thought out and a beautiful dedication in their memory. The only thing I have said from the beginning when the project was first thought of is “why did it need two beautiful people to lose their lives for people to start helping to make shidduchim“. It should be in everyone’s blood and mind to help singles find each other. The minute I meet a single I already start thinking who would he/she match to? Do we need a tragedy to think this way or is this the way every Jew should think about helping other people from the start. A middah that is must in every Jew. We are friends with the Kaplans and never had the pleasure of meeting the Levins but our hearts and respect go out to both families for their loss and dedication for shidduchim. I compare it to a fire. Do you first need a house to burn down to first start being aware of fire safety rules? Fire safety rules should be on everyone’s mind all the time.”

“I have been so inspired by the daily inspiration, tips and halochos, ever since I have signed up with this wonderful initiative. The truth be told I have been suggesting shidduchim for about 10 years or so, yet over the last few years felt very burned out by the shidduch scene, and how parents and girls and boys deal with things. Since this is not my primary job I had taken a step back. Yet about a year ago a dear family member sent me a link to sign on to the whatsapp chat, and since then it has given much chizuk of the importance and need for everyone out there to get involved. I am a born New Yorker yet have been living in eretz yisroel for the last 22 years….b’H. The shidduch scene for children of anglo parents that grew up in Eretz Yisroel could be very challenging. Many of them would like to see their offspring’s with an English speaker yet it is not always possible. I am a courageous person and if I feel a shidduch between the girl and boy are suitable I try my best to reason with the parents….that could be very tough at times. This special shidduch is a wonderful girl with anglo parents, to a fantastic truly Israeli Sabra, yet when I redt it to the parents I told them it is very “left field” yet I truly felt the girl and boy suite each other. With much Siyata DiShmaya the shidduch hit off right away and they got engaged two weeks ago I have written above, how the halochos, ideas, and beautiful chizuk gave me the push forward!!!”

She then redt a few shidduchim and actually one shidduch went out a few times. While this was going on, I was so excited for her as each date that she got a yes. But after the 5th date, it was over.  It was so exciting for us that she actually got someone to go on a few dates! I wanted to do so as well! I redt this shidduch and got a yes from both sides. Oh I forgot to mention, that one our favorite parts are checking the website to so the numbers of first dates and engaged go up. So when my sister got a first date she was able to put it in and the number went up. We were so excited!! Then we did the same by my shidduch and hoped it will make it to the end. Well that’s the story. And it all ended well. While they were dating and the number was up to 99, I thought I would be 100! But I missed it!  I was the 1,510th shidduch to go on a first date!

“I was very inspired to red shidduchim I followed the 10K Batay Yisroel straight from the beginning when Rabbi Levin started it. I’ve checked the numbers on the website and read all the testimonials. I’ve logged quite many suggestions and logged a first date that my mother redt. I was at the gathering in Chynka and it gave me a push to continue trying. A few weeks ago I helped in a shidduch by hooking the boys parent up with a shaddchan who made his shidduch. BH this passed week I made my very first shidduch and it was actually for my own son. I had redt a boy for the girl but nothing came of it. Being that I had her resume from the first shidduch I redt for her, I looked it over and thought maybe she could be for my son. I actually tried helping someone else out and ended up helping myself and my family in the process! Thank you Rabbi Levin for pushing and inspiring so many people to redt shiduchim. May it be a z’chus for you and your family and the Kaplan family and an Aliyas Nishama for Yisroel and Elisheva.”

The boy is my nephew and the girl is my daughter’s friend. Whenever I redt shidduchim, I always have Yisroel and Elisheva in mind! I thought of the shidduch 7 months ago. When I spoke to the parents they both told me that since one lives in Eretz and one lives in America as long as no one is coming in lets hold off. Well 7 months later the boy was coming into america and the boys mother reminded about my shidduch. So I went ahead and redt it to both sides again what amazes me the most was that no one that I mentioned it to thought it made sense but i kept on thinking if Hashem put it in my head and they are both really nice people why shouldn’t I try. And thank you Hashem for making this wonderful shidduch happen. Also the way I presented it to the girls mother when she asked me why I think its a good idea and I said” I could just see them together “ and the mother went with the shidduch because I said that. So you see the right words Hashem put in my mouth worked

My Chosson had a good friend Osher, (Riverdale, 24 ) who he thought would be a good idea for my friend Chavi (Lakewood, 25). We set them up when we were engaged, they went out for the first time the night after our wedding and now 6 weeks later they are BH happily engaged. Its amazing how Batay Yisroel keep an awareness and reminder to everyone that anyone can be a shadchan and don’t give up since you never know!? I always see the 10K adds and check the website and log my suggestions and reading others stories kept me inspired to keep trying.”

Being totally honest I got engaged the same time as yisroel and elisheva Erev Pesach 2018. I got married in the summer 2018 and only heard about the 10K a few weeks ago, I was so inspired and moved that i went on a shidduch redting rampage and BH an older couple (30) are getting engaged TONIGHT!!!!! Thank you for creating such a uniting organization that drives people to look past themselves and do something about it!!!”

“I myself am actually a girl “in the parsha”, which would probably have made me even more hesitant to suggest something than the typical person, but the ads were everywhere and I realized that I only had what to gain. This was not the first suggestion I tried because of the 10kBY initiative, and quite a few of the shidduchim I pushed did date a number of times but nothing came of any of them. I actually brought up the idea at my shabbos table and things went wild from there… It actually was not smooth sailing for much of the ordeal and there was plenty of stress for everyone involved. So many times over the past few weeks I was so tempted to just give up and never redt another shidduch, but Baruch Hashem it worked out and I am so grateful for the zchus… 10kBY is for sure a huge part of that!! Thank You!!!”

“I’ve been redting many shidduchim as a zchus for Yisroel and Elisheva a”h and finally baruch Hashem I made my first one!! I kept on redting even though most of them did not go anywhere-always with the hope that this time something would happen and it did baruch Hashem!! I can definitely tell you about how the project inspired me. Number 1 I would say that I am a single girl so normally I would think that I don’t stand a chance to make a shidduch. I think this project revolutionized the idea that anyone and everyone is capable of making a shidduch-they just need the courage to redt it!! It is becoming more and more popular for girls to redt shidduchim and I see it over and over again that many are zoche to actually make shidduchim! (two of my single friends made shidduchim as well) Without this project I don’t think we would think it is possible!! Number 2- I would love to share with the Levin family that when I redt this shidduch I said out loud that it should be a zchus for Yisroel and Elisheva’s neshamos. I’m sure they had a part in making this shidduch go so fast and easy!”

BH they were interested and the shidduch happened shortly after. I think 10k inspired me to red shidduchim and I only became a Shadchan after the organization was formed. I bH did 11 shidduchim in the past year and a half. It should bring an aliyah for the neshomos of Yisroel and Elisheva and a Nechama to their families. “

The girl suggested it and last week my friend and that girls brother got engaged!! I suggested someone I went out with to someone I (sort of:) knew. I didn’t think anything would come of it. However, apparently a lot of people thought of the idea but no one went ahead with it. Hashem chose me to be the shalaich and B”H they got engaged last week. May everything that comes out of their future home be a zechus for the neshamos of Yisroel and Elisheva Basya! I am constantly seeing ads with peoples feedback on this initiative. The whole culture it has created definitely impacted my suggestion. Being in shidduchim I am often wary of “random suggestions”. However this initiative and my recent shidduch changed my perspective a little bit. A few days after they got engaged I saw an add introducing 10K first dates. This motivated me to suggest another shidduch with someone else I went out with. I was a little shy but I told myself I am doing this for their zechus! All I had to do was suggest it to someone (she thought it was a brilliant idea) and let a professional take it from there! We will see what happens….. May we hear of many simchas!

As a young married woman, seeing the ads for their zechus, I always wanted to be a part but was never able to come up with any ideas. Then one day I redd a shidduch to a friend, for a week I put all energy into it and then the boy’s mother asked if I mind if she uses a professional shadchan. I reluctantly said yes and when I thought it through I realized it was the zechus of hopefully bringing two people together that I wanted and nothing more. 2 months later they are now engaged, the girls side appreciates the time I put in very much but from the boys side I got “oh you only did 1 small phone call you weren’t really the main shadchan“. And the rest is history ! They went out since August and got engaged today BH !!amazing feeling to be the shaliach ! I was  involved in doing shidduchim the past several years, but since this site was created I took it to another level -hearing Rabbi Levin’s request at the levaya followed by several requests to continue the Shidduch initiative lzecher nishmatam, I realized there is so much that can really be done by each and everyone of us. I work daily on meeting with people and trying to redt Shidduchim and BH it paid off today! A couple got engaged from me meeting two random people !!! I’ve been redting shidduchim the past several years . However since I heard Rabbi Levin and Joel Kaplan speak about the initiative I took redting shidduchim to another level. I attend a Shidduch group called Aleinu L’shadaich based in Five Towns. I was frustrated because I had a lot of names but they meant very little to me because I didn’t know them. I felt like I was shooting darts. I decided to make a singles  BBQ  in my house on July fourth.  10 girls -10 guys- very chilled. My daughter and her friend were very helpful. We consulted with shadchannim who had done this and with singles to hear what they wanted. It was easy getting the girls, the guys were a bit harder but with S”D we had 13 guys and 11 girls. They were likeminded, similar hashkafas, and all were helpful and polite. It was amazing and they all had a wonderful time. After the BBQ I got in touch with each of them. I had two couples that wanted to go out and I logged them into 10K Batay Yisroel to give added zchusim all around. One couple didn’t work out and the other- my daughter’s friend who was so helpful, dated all summer -a guy that my daughter had previously dated and had convinced him to come to the BBQ. I attended the trial having the inside info  that they were getting engaged. When I read that Rabbi Levin said that he checked the website during the trial to see if there were engagements- I was happy to send him the message that one was already being planned.  This experience has taught me that not everyone loves the “Shadchan” experience, but there are other ways to meet and date. We had a perfectly kosher singles event with wonderful frum people who learn and grow and daven. They are also capable of making shidduchim by thinking of each other and setting each other up with family, friends, or other people they dated. It was a wonderful experience and B”H had a wonderful outcome. Reading the ads and emails from the Kaplan’s and Levin families was very inspirational and it gave me the added push to just do it. Making the BBQ was a joint effort. We had people who recommended singles, people who offered to bring food, and all of the singles helped prepare and clean up. It was a great feeling to see how happy everyone was after an enjoyable evening. Everyone’s involvement should be a zchus for an aliya of Yisroel and Elisheva’s neshamos.

BH I just had the zechus of completing my first shidduch! I’m only 21 years old but I know the difficulty of being in shidduchim. 10k had really inspired me and I’m constantly redting shidduchim because of it. I  thought of a great idea for my close friend from seminary’s brother a while ago but he wasn’t in shidduchim yet. Thanks to 10k for giving me that much needed push and BH see the fruits of my labor. It helped show me that you don’t need to be a professional Shadchan to make a shidduch. At the end of last year I set up two friends, in their 30s, and they just got married at the beginning of the summer. I knew them both from different places, the guy from high school and the girl more recently and it just came to me. The girl was from LA but living in NY at the time and the guy was from LA, lived in NY and then moved back to LA, so their paths kept crossing and they never met. When they finally went out they hit it off and realized they had a lot of mutual friends. At the vort, tons of people said “why didn’t I think of this sooner.” Everyone thanked me but I said it was all Hashem. The chosson’s mother passed away when we were in high school and the kallah’s brother passed away many years ago as well, their presence was felt very strongly at the wedding and throughout the whole process. Keep pushing, checking in, and let Hashem do the rest. I was of course very moved when I heard about the 10K project, I myself am an “older single” (30s) and in the dating world for many years, and always appreciate when people send me suggestions and try to set me up. It reminds me that I am not forgotten, that someone is still thinking of me to set me up. It really means so much. So too, I always trying to set up my friends and family. So this project really inspired me to keep trying, because you never know when something will work out.  I hope that the family continues to be comforted by this project and Yisroel and Elisheva’s neshama should have an aliyah with each suggestion, match and iyh shidduch that is made.

I want to tell you that 10K is behind this shidduch. I was in shidduchim when the tragedy happened. After seeing this wonderful initiative, I made it a priority to think of other friends every time I dated someone that did not end up being for me. Once you start thinking – you eventually get good at it, its like practicing playing an instrument. Over time you get better and more on point. In the past year me and my family must have thought of 75 – 100 ideas between family friends, people I dated, people my friends dated etc.. This shidduch is a friend from yeshiva to a girl I dated. I saw the yad H’ through and through. I kept pushing my friend every few weeks. It just wouldn’t leave my head what a good idea this shidduch could be. I kept thinking of the 10k initiative and pushed myself to remind my friend every few weeks. They finally went out and bh just got engaged!! Additionally I had two other friends date girls over ten times because of ideas I thought of lzchus Yisroel and Elisheva ah. This is a beautiful initiative to help in the biggest form of chesed possible lzchus Yisroel and Elisheva! Let’s make many more shidduchim lzchus! Lets continue to change lives! Simchas! May these words bring a level of nechama. No doubt this shidduch came about through their teffilos in shamayim for klal yisroel.  This project was the motivation and driving force. I made redting a shidduchim my priority because of this project. Someone once approached the Lubavitcher Rebbe broken and in tears and begged the Rebbe to bring Mashiach with his teffilos. The Rebbe responded strongly over and over that only everyone together can do that not him alone. Helping marry off klal yisroels singles can also only happen with everyone together doing their part! Not just ten main shadchanim. Thank you 10k! Keep raising the bar and spreading this special project

So I can definitely say that the advertising and drip drip message of 10k that anyone can suggest a shidduch made an impact on me. So many times I’ve had ideas but always felt that — c’mon, do I really know what I’m talking about etc etc. This time, with the empowerment from 10k that anyone can do it - you don’t have to be a professional experienced shadchan, I picked up the phone and just suggested… one phone call lead to another.. research, resumes, financial chat, dor yeshorim and at each stage I was telling myself that it's ok…you don’t have to be a professional to navigate this phone call.. next was dating venues, coaching him… coaching her… and yes, it took hours of time and lots of koach but suddenly there was a mazel tov! Its a tremendous feeling to have played a hand as the shaliach of Hashem in setting up a new home in Klal Yisroel… 10k’s message and empowerment is invaluable! It should be a zechus for the families and an aliyah for their neshamos.

When family friends are better than professional shadchanim: Not everyone has a picture perfect life, and it is often those individuals who have been through things and struggled, who end up making the best spouses. And yet it is ironic how those individuals who met their life’s challenges with grit and determination, and really built themselves in to solid and sensitive ovdei Hashem, are often stigmatized by our community- especially when it comes to shidduchim. They need our help! I know it isn’t fair but professional shadchanim often have no choice but to match up people based on their stories. Instead of thinking about who would make a fitting mate for the individual carrying the stigma of a less than perfect family, a shadchan will often look for someone who will be willing to consider someone with a story. And so many talented, capable, refined and successful singles will be labeled second rate and suggested to people who are not of the same caliber, but who carry the burden of a similar story. And that’s where family and friends come in. We see our friends as wonderful people instead of defining them by the stigmas they carry. Therefore we can often do a better job of redting our friends shidduchim. I have a friend who had a very special daughter in the parsha, and she called me to ask about an eligible boy in my city. But that boy wasn’t frum enough for my friend’s daughter. So I tried to think of someone who is frum enough, and serious enough about his learning for this girl, and the face of another boy in my city flashed through my mind. I thought it was a good idea because both the girl and boy have so much simchas hachayim, and they share the same values. And then I realized that they even had complimenting stories. So I decided to redt it. Both the girl’s mother and the boy’s mother liked what they heard. And when they asked for the name they both said the same thing. “Oh, a shaddchan redt this already, but I said no.” One side had thought that the other side’s story was too intimidating, and the other side had thought that the hashkafos weren’t compatible. But when they both realized that I knew the other side personally they agreed to look into the shidduch. They both trusted me because I was a family friend, and not a professional shadchan. And now we have a very happy chassan and kallah who were able to find each other only because their shidduch was handled by a friend. I’ve seen your ads a few times and was inspired that I could just make suggestions, and keeping making them even if nothing I had ever suggested had worked before. A few months after seeing your ads I made my suggestion even without thinking about your organization. I just did it without looking back!

A friend called me one night to ask me about a girl who had been redt to her brother. As we spoke it seemed it wasnt a great match. Since getting married I’ve always tried thinking of shidduchim so I asked my friend what her brother was looking for.  A few weeks later I was by my in-laws for shabbos and my mother-in-law asked my husband if he had any friends for a neighbor’s daughter. She told us what she was looking for and for some reason my friend’s brother popped into my head. Of course I forgot about it after shabbos but a few weeks later it randomly popped into my head. I called my friend. Then called my mother-in-law’s neighbor. And a few weeks later (the night after the 10K event!) I attended their l’chaim!! I have been married for just under 3 years now. Ever since I got engaged my husband and I have been trying to match up our friends. I have had so many ideas yet none had ever gotten farther than sending one side a resume. People talk about losing interest or feeling discouraged or uncomfortable, but the way I see it is I BH got married and it’s the most wonderful thing. How can I not try to give that brocha to others? Especially my own friends! Its not personal when someone says no to my ideas; I know I’m not good at this. But its fun to try! And here, such a random pair, and it worked! The feeling you get after seeing the smile and hearing that thank you from a chosson and kallah makes the entire process worth trying to replicate over and over. Walking into a l’chaim and being introduced to everyone as “this is the shadchan!!” is really the best feeling in the world I recently got involved in 10k and helped work on the big event we just had. Being a part of this amazing organization while pursuing a shidduch was so encouraging and exciting! Telling everyone I worked with behind the scenes at 10k that I just added to the first date log, or now the shidduch log, was an amazing feeling. It is a group of wonderful, dedicated individuals who just want to help klal yisroel grow.

I met one through my chessed girl in Israel (interestingly enough) and the other one is close to my relatives and thought of the shidduch in passing and mentioned it so I can add one shidduch to this program. I think this is marvelous! It was so beautiful to see everyones smiles. What a zechus it should be for this sweet couple who passed away so suddenly. BH I can add one to make the 10k shidduchim!! Beautiful! Keep climbing!

I am a single girl almost a year back from seminary. My first cousin’s husband had a single brother in shidduchim.  I really didn’t know much about him at all- never laid eyes on him, didn’t know which yeshivos he went to, his personality, etc. I just knew that he was similar to his brother who is married to my cousin. One night I was in the car with a friend schmoozing about shidduchim, and we were saying how we need to think of someone for this boy- she knew him also because they are distant family friends. Suddenly, I said, how about this girl we both know? She said, “that’s a really good idea!!” She encouraged me that it really was a good idea, so I asked my friend to send me her resume, and I called up my cousin and suggested the shidduch. The rest is history! They are so happy! I am constantly seeing the ads promoting 10K Batay Yisroel, so I think making shidduchim just  became more of a subconscious focus in my mind. I definitely feel like this program had a part in encouraging me to try to think of shidduchim and to actually suggest them.

I always have Yisroel and Elisheva in mind and (almost) always, in this case I did, put in logo when I send resumes.  This shidduch was an interesting story! I was working on a shidduch for a girl and needed guidance how to navigate it. I turned to a relative of mine, a very wise woman. The shidduch did not work out, and I kept the woman posted on the outcome. About a week later she met me and told me she had a different idea for the girl and asked me to redt it. I wasn’t so comfortable because the boy was younger than the girl and from the little I knew about the boy and the girl, I wasn’t sure it was a match. But this woman was so excited about her idea that I pushed myself to redt it. It took off and boruch Hashem they are engaged!!!

Over the years I have redt shidduchim from time to time. Since this initiative started, I was so inspired that I set up so many people just for Yisroel and Elisheva’s z’chus. So much so, that even my children have gotten involved. My 17 year old daughter was talking to a friend of hers who was describing her brother and my daughter thought that he sounded like a good for her first cousin (my niece). I spoke with the mother of the boy and then served as the go-between and B”H they just got engaged! A year ago this same niece redt a friend of her’s from seminary to my son and Boruch Hashem they got married. I am so happy, that now a year later I was able to pay her back by being her shadchan! I truly believe that if we all try, then Hashem sends.  May this website continue to serve as a nechama to both families and we should reach the ten thousand very soon! Thank you for the z’chus!

“I was sitting at a wedding of a close friend. I overheard another friend talking about her single brother, so I asked her to tell me about him. She told me all about him, and I told her that I would find her someone for him because I know tonz of girls that would be a good fit. I tried  to think of a few girls but none seemed like they would work. So I called up another friend who is involved in shidduchim and I told her all about my friend’s brother. She said that she has an idea. I told her to send me her resume and I forwarded it to the boy’s side. They were very happy with what they saw! They said yes, and the girl’s mother called me to ask me about the boy that I redd her daughter to. I told her that I don’t really know the boy and I don’t really know her daughter, but I know the boy’s sister and his family, and they are amazing. She found out more information and they said yes too! They then gave it over to a professional shadchan and just last night I got the call that they are getting engaged! Mazel Tov! This shidduch was my first shidduch ever that I attempted! I was inspired from reading all of the stories on this beautiful website and I decided that I really want to try to make a shidduch, or at least redd one. I was so excited to do it in the zechus of 10K Batay Yisroel! I know am super inspired to try to redd as many shidduchim as I could, especially since I saw such siyata dishmaya with this one. May the zechusim keep on pouring in! Thank you!”

Some years ago I made 5 shidduchim in about 2 years time.  Just last week my sixth and last shidduch just made a bar mitzvah for their oldest child and I attended with great joy and had such nachas.  Once you make one shidduch it is in your blood and you just keep trying.  In the beginning I was trying to redt shidduchim all the time but eventually I became very disillusioned and frustrated because the parties just didn’t respond at all. It’s okay to say ” we looked into it but it’s not for us”.  No is also an answer. But no responses at all made me give up and I stopped redting. But when I heard Rabbi Shaya Levin ( who is a dear family friend of ours) speak about 10K Batay Yisroel, I decided to put aside all my disappointments and frustrations and started redting shidduchim again as a zechus for Yisroel and Elisheva a”h.  And that is how this shidduch came to be, all with the help of Hashem of course.!

I am privileged to be logging a second engagement on this forum. A relative of mine was visiting the States and I reached out to an acquantince who I have been previously in contact regarding shidduchim if she had any ideas for him. She mentioned she did not have ideas for him here, but she did have a friend back in Israel which can be applicable. For no apparent reason, the two never ended up going out, but a few months later while looking through old messages, I came across the girls information and thought of another relative of mine which seemed to be a good fit. B”H they just got engaged! As written in my initial post, I am a single 21 year old girl and this initiative inspired me to get involved in shidduchim. I found that it all came down to NETWORKING and keeping your friends/neighbors/relatives etc. in mind. Many doors can be opened by casually gearing the conversation towards shidduchim. I would sit by a wedding and mention someone I know looking for shidduch to the person sitting next to me and suddenly people at the table would pitch in about who they knew in the “market”. These conversations are often time very productive and you never know where it may lead. It is my sincerest hope that we can each apply this initiative to our daily lives and may it be a continued Aliyah Neshama for Yisroel and Elisheva.

When I heard about this program I was extremely inspired by it. I really wanted to make a shidduch as a z’chus for Yisrael and Elisheva. I am a regular single 21 year old girl who never made a shidduch before. About 2 months after hearing about this program, my friend and I decided we were going to look for a shidduch for a boy in my neighborhood. We flipped through our high school yearbook and within 5 minutes we had found the perfect girl for him. The only problem was I never had much to do with her in school and rarely saw her after. A few weeks later I “happened” to see her at a wedding. I was scared and felt shy but I took the plunge. I told the girl that I have a boy in my neighborhood who I thought was good for her. We exchanged email addresses and said we would be in touch about this shidduch. Long story short, every time one side was available the other side was busy. Sporadically, I would call either the boy or girls side to see if they were available. 5 months after I initially mentioned it, on Chanukah, I decided I would give it one more shot. After calling both sides, I found out they were both available and interested. After getting a yes from both sides, I asked my mother to be the official shadchan and deal with the back and forth. Last week, THE COUPLE GOT ENGAGED!!! They are over the moon and keep thanking my friend and I for pursuing the idea. I know it was all siyata diShmaya and it was the inspiration that I got from Yisrael and Elisheva that enabled me to redt this shiduch, thereby adding another engagement to the 10K program.

Let me just start by saying that I’m Not a Shadchan. This is my first shidduch & B”H they’re engaged. I think it really made a difference that I know both sides and I wasn’t just putting 2 resumes together. The boy’s mother said “no” a few times but I really thought it was a good idea & I pushed her a little (ok, a lot). By the way, my niece is part of the 10K Batay Yisroel team. She keeps encouraging me to think of shidduchim.

I met the girl getting out of my regular carpool from the school I teach in and she attends in Manhattan. It was our first time traveling together; I told her I help people with shidduchim and to send me her resume. Subsequently, she came to see me in person, I then asked my brother a Rosh Yehiva for a suggestion for this special young lady and he recommended one of his former Talmidim and Baruch Hashem tonight is the Lechaim. I registered the couple the suggestion and the first date and had in mind it should be a zechus for Yisoel and Elisheva A”H.

I B”H am active in shidduchim and whenever I come to Chicago my daughter asks me to meet girls in shidduchim.  A woman came over to my daughter’s house to help out and said I looked very familiar.  I did not recognize her but believe it or not we figured out that I was her teacher 35 years ago.  Later she mentioned she had a son in shidduchim, that night I met 12 girls, and thought they all sounded good for her son. My daughter suggested I check with someone who knows him and that person said none of these girls were compatible with him.  At that point I decided to meet the son in person, so I asked him to come 8:00 the following night after the Vach Nacht. My daughter then said one more girl who couldn’t make the night before really still wanted to come. It was the night before the bris B”H and hectic, but my daughter urged me to meet her as well at 8:30. The boy came 8:15, and made a wonderful impression, then while I was still talking to the boy, the girl and her mother came. I told them to wait and finished up with the boy and walked him out right in front of the girl and her mother.  Then I met with the girl and saw open Hashgacha Pratis that she was perfect for this boy. I immediately set up the date and B”H tonight was the LChaim, to my student’s son  from 35 years ago. My daughter in Eretz Yisroel urged me to register my shidduch activity as a zechus for Yisroel and Elisheva, z”l. When i mentioned it to the almost Kallah that I had registered them, she was visibly moved and was sharing it with the almost Chosson.

Rivka has been an anchor in our family. She loves babies and children and basically came over every day to help me when my kids were young and continued the visits as they grew up. She is someone I can count on for a last minute errand or favor.  One day, I saw Moshe’s resume in my email. I “accidentally” opened it. When I saw the description of what he was looking for, I thought of Rivka immediately.   I felt I had a special level of Siyata D’Shmaya with this shidduch.  I’ve facilitated several shidduchim in Rivka’s family.  I’ve made a bunch in the last few years and have considered putting this “hobby” on hold many times.  It was “by chance” that I was able to find Rivka the perfect guy for her. I have no doubt that Hashem gave me extra shmira because of my mesiras nefesh with Shidduchim.  I work on shidduchim constantly and feel overwhelmed, frustrated and burned out.  I work full time and have a house full of kids, but I know it’s a special gift I have. An initiative like 10K Batay Yisroel gives chizuk to those of us in the trenches. For every 100 we redt, maybe one will actually work out. Recognizing that is a step in the right direction.  It reminds us that nothing goes unnoticed by HaKadosh Baruch Hu. Knowing that I can “log” every idea I have and when it gets to a date and then IY”H to an engagement gives me ongoing chizuk.

I am a teacher at a Kirov girls high school and my husband works with Kiruv with college students . Many times we have his guys that he teaches come over for Shabbos and there was one boy there whom I happened to even know growing up since he was friends with my younger cousin. He kept asking me if I had any good girl for him since I teach at a high school and have many graduates . I kept that thought in mind and one day randomly a thought came to mind of a graduate whom I thought was a good girl and he asked for a good girl so why not give it a shot . I offered it to him and he accepted and so did she . lo and behold a few months later they’re engaged !!! But WAIT the story gets better ! This boy has an older brother who was single and so when he became serious with my student she had an idea for his older brother to go out with one of her friends who also happened to be one of my students …. long story short – 2 brothers got engaged within 3 days !!!! If I never suggested my shidduch idea which actually worked out (I absolutely had no thought even of it getting anywhere but thought hey you never know ) then the 2nd idea of the shidduch for the older brother coming through my shidduch idea would have also have to be delayed and come through a different source !! You never know ! Just give it a try and somehow you can even merit to be somehow involved in more than one shidduch through a simple suggestion ! It helped me make a suggestion although I didn’t think it would actually get anywhere but hey why not give it a shot anyways and it got 2 shidduchim in Klal Yisrael and now 2 brothers on the way to getting married Baruch HaShem !!! 10K Batay Yisroel  inspired me to think a bit harder of what could make sense even if it took a few tries to figure it out and also to make the suggestion although I wasn’t sure it would even get to the first date but to make the offer regardless and let them decide ! And in the end it resulted in a double shidduch bH!

This is actually the first shidduch suggestion that I logged on the 10K Batay Yisroel site. This shidduch is a long story with so many layers of siyata d’shmay that it would take too long to write about it all. I just learned one more piece. The Kallah and her mother went to Eretz Yisroel for a visit that had been planned before the shidduch began. They went to the bais hakvaros to daven at the kever of a friend that had passed away a few years prior. The taxi dropped them off and when they got out they found themselves standing at the kever of Yisroel Levin a”h. The mother spent some time davening at his kever before she went up to the kever of her friend. Surely Yisroel Levin a”h was looking out for shidduch #31. May this shidduch serve as an Aliyah for his Neshama.

A few weeks ago, I had written on the 10K Batay Yisroel feedback forum stating how this initiative inspired me to go beyond my comfort zone to network. At the time, I mentioned 3 shidduchim which were in the preliminary stages. I now have an update of how each panned out. One suggestion never went on a date (yet!), another never made it past the first date and the third just got engaged on Thursday! On Chol Hamoed Sukkot, I was sitting with my 16 year old brother and decided to broach the subject of shidduchim (thanks to this initiative!). I asked him to tell me about all the guys he knows which are of eligible age. The description of his dorm counselor seemed to match up with a good friend of mine and I decided to redt the shidduch. It took a bit of time to actually get them to go out due to various circumstances, but now the rest is history:) As I initially stated in the feedback forum, this initiative gave me the extra “push” to network. Sometimes all you need is to pick up the phone, approach someone you are not acquainted with, or just start a dialogue.  This can lead to life changing results. At first, I feared some may be insulted if I was off base with my suggestion, but I find that most people are grateful that you are thinking of them. Although this is the first suggestion which led to an engagement, I hope it will be the first of many and should be an Aliyah Neshama for both Elisheva and Yisroel!

Thus far I’ve gone out of my comfort zone and  redt a number of  shidduchim.  One couple got engaged, the girl is a neighbor of mine ( and a relative by marriage to one of the Kaplan sisters)and the boy is a relative.  It is an incredible to see the siyata deshmaya in a shidduch coming to fruition.  You don’t have to overthink your idea. If you think you may have a possible shidduch idea, pick up the phone and call. People are usually so grateful that you thought of their child. This initiative should be a zechus for Yisrael and Elisheva’s neshamas.”

First of all, Tizku L’mitzvos! Your movement is bringing about wonderful things. I’m 21 and single and live in a large community. Over the past year, BH a lot of the girls in my neighborhood got married. In shul on Rosh Hashanah, I was thinking that and also thinking how aside from myself there are only 2 other girls my age left b”H. One is a grade-mate of mine, that I did not have much to do with. When I came home from Shul I was sharing my reflections with my mother. Later at the seudah, my father was saying that a student of his came to wish him a Guht Yahr. He was saying what a nice boy he is and I randomly said- Maybe it’s a good idea for Leah. I do not know either of them really… My father mentioned it to each side and then after Yom Tov, redt it officially. My parents were the go between the whole time and B”H they got engaged last Tuesday.  I’ve been inspired by your movement and the awareness it created and always try to think of shidduchim for the zchus of the Chosson and Kallah. Every time I see your ad I’m reminded… and when this idea popped into my head I said: why not do it as a z’chus for Yisroel and Elisheva?  It’s also amazing and a chizzuk for people who are waiting,… that all you need is the right one to think of the idea. It does not have to be a major shadchan. Anyone can be the one…. and for those who have ideas and are afraid to share them, no-one will slam the phone on a shidduch suggestion so it’s worth it to give it a try! Thank you for your wonderful work!

And last week they got engaged BH!!! I just want to add that these people are not from my circles and after the shidduch came about everyone was shocked that this shidduch came about through someone that wasn’t part of their ‘circles’. Although they live an 8+ hour drive from each other, both sides were open and willing and Baruch Hashem, about a month and a half after they met, they recently got engaged! I was hesitant to redt it because it was my first time suggesting anything, and to a boy I didnt even know! But chasdei Hashem it all worked out bli ayin hara, and they are happily engaged today 🙂 All I can say is, it doesn’t hurt to try and redt something, you never know, you just may be the shaliach they were waiting for 🙂 It should be an aliyah for the neshamos and a nechama and a zchus for both the Levin and Kaplan families. I was inspired to try even harder despite the fact that I’ve been suggesting shidduchim for over ten years and have BH been successful. This new shidduch is young. I do not know Rabbi and Mrs. Levin personally. However our children’s lives have crossed paths in many different ways. I began to get involved in redting shidduchim about 12 years ago. B”H, B”H I have been granted the zechus of redting thousands of shidduchim and successfully being the shaliach for over 100 couples. This project that the Levins have launched has really touched on a much needed sensitivity to the graveness of the situation out there. Yes, we must all collectively try and think of shidduchim for everyone we know….and if we have an idea and can’t act on it for whatever reason.. Please give it to someone who can. After this tragedy, I was approached by an askan in Flatbush asking me to arrange a speed dating in his home in Flatbush. It was a busy time… around lag baomer…and I said as much as I would love to, I feel I have too much on my plate now….maybe  in a few weeks…. Then I saw an email about the 10k Batay Yisroel initiative… and I said to myself… Who am I to say I’m too busy? What can be more important? With the help of HKB”H we pulled off a beautiful event. At the event itself I thought of Yisroel and Elisheva and the legacy they left behind. As a result of this successful event… There are still couples dating and there have been TWO BEAUTIFUL AMAZING SHIDDUCHIM THAT ARE GETTING MARRIED AFTER YOM TOV. Yisroel and Elisheva were definitely the impetus for this amazing event that will IY”H create binyanei adey ad.  May this be a comfort to both families.

It’s been 10 years since my first and only successful shidduch.  After Pesach I was inspired to start trying again and they just got engaged!” “I made my brother’s shidduch 10 years ago to my co-worker, and tried a few after that.  After one couple went out a few times and it fell apart I stopped; I worried that maybe as an inexperienced shadchan I didn’t have the experience needed to facilitate shidduchim.  After you publicized your campaign, I was inspired to start again. My mother davens in the Levin’s shul and we very touched by the tragedy and follow up campaign.  The girl is my niece and I redt to her my neighbor’s son. The boy was in the freezer so we needed to wait, but once he was able to date it went very quickly B”H. I am inspired to try to redt more; though I haven’t had any good ideas since then, I will keep thinking… May it be an aliyah for their neshamos.

No, I am not a shadchan but have made my first shidduch this past week and have just started less than two months ago. How is this possible when so many have set up so many dates but year after year they haven’t set up couples who have gotten married??  I hope my story inspires others to take action when it comes to setting people up so we get more simchos, more often! I know the Kaplan family and coming back from the levaya I knew I had to take action and change something in Yisroel Levin and Elisheva Kaplan’s memory. As a fashion blogger, I seized the opportunity to announce on my Insta story @styledbyfreidy that I will be taking resumes of anyone currently looking for a shidduch (I have a great network of girls it doesn’t hurt to reach out to them)! My only condition was that 1. I don’t do blind dates..you’re welcome 2. I get an answer within 3 days or else I move on to the next (I don’t want either party waiting on each other..it ain’t good manners) One of my followers sent in her resume and pic and I thought of a guy who may be perfect for her but I wasn’t sure if he started dating. Rather, then wait the next two weeks to bring it up, that night I asked the mother if he started dating….she replied, he just started. Yassss, I was in. I sent her the girl’s resume and got an answer then ran to to the girl and got an answer within the week the date was set. Within, two months they got engaged! Before the tragedy, I would have thought I couldn’t make a difference and would have procrastinated. This time, I went all out and made the difference. You don’t have to be a shadchan to set people up. You just have to CARE! Next time you have a good idea (don’t just set people up just because..it can lead to burn out which we don’t want) act on it, send the info, and be there when both parties need you for any other info…and if all is meant to be…you can too set up your first couple! Our destines lie in the hands of the unity of our people. Everyone says it’s too personal to get involved when it comes to shidduchim. To them I say, get personal and be involved in more shidduchim. I did and I will never regret it. I never met the girl until I did at their L’chaim! There is no other feeling like bringing two people together. I know because I just did and it’s an amazing feeling that I can’t put into words. I tear up thinking about it. My life, the boy’s life and the girl’s life is changed forever

Elisheva Kaplan actually was my best friend, so I was excited to be a part of this. I’m not a shadchan just wanted to try to help out others. I redt a shidduch and they just got engaged! (I think they want to remain anonymous but I’ll find out!)

I had posted that I redt a shidduch and they got engaged last week BH! The boy and girl are both from Lakewood. Shidduchim is my hobby 🙂 I try to fit it in between a full job and a house with children KNH. I think this project is amazing because everyone needs to be osek in some form. What a beautiful way to give the neshamos zechuyos and the families chizuk.

As soon as I heard about this project, I really wanted to try to make suggestions. I have tried in the past, but I never even really got anyone to date. I know some of the Levin siblings, and I really wanted to do something as a zechus. The way this shidduch happened was that my good friend was asking me if I know anyone for her brother in law, and from what she said about him, it sounded like a good match for my sister. We both felt funny suggesting it, since I didn’t know they boy and she didn’t know the girl, but we pushed ourselves to suggest it to both sides, and now, Boruch Hashem, they are engaged. The project definitely did inspire me, and now I am inspired to keep on working on suggestions…..we can’t run the world, but we can try to do our part to help the klal. Thanks for this beautiful project!
